Free Software to Manage inbound and Outbound Aircraft at an Airport

Being able to accurately coordinate inbound and outbound flights within an airport is critical in terms of logistics as well as passenger safety. Such a concept can be even more challenging when referring to larger airports that may have to deal with hundreds of different flights each day. A free software application known as Onboard Performance Tool is meant to provide real-time flight predictions based off of variables such as weather and runway conditions.

Primary Features and Functions

Onboard Performance Tool is intended to be used in conjunction with existing software packages in order for air traffic controllers and ground crew to enjoy the most accurate measurements possible. Some of the metrics addressed include take-off and landing analyses, the gross weight details of planes, recommended engine power, the safest approach vectors and Minimum Equipment List (MEL) summaries.

Further Uses and Applications

It should be mentioned here that this Onboard Performance Tool is programmed to adhere to all of the relevant regulations and procedures as stipulated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Therefore, all calculations and recommendations will fall within these specifications. As the entire file size is only 7.75 megabytes, the processing power of most operating systems will not be lessened.
